Where the market stands

The Nifty 50 goes into the session after a 1.11% decline in the previous one. The Nifty 50 sits in the lowest fifth of its 52-week range, 13.1% below the high.

Foreign institutions were net sellers of ₹1,149 crore in the cash market on 19 October, and domestic institutions net buyers of ₹3,201 crore. Domestic money absorbed the foreign flow, which is why the index moved less than either side's figure would suggest. Over the last 5 sessions foreign institutions were net sellers of ₹8,431 crore.
