Reliance, Nayara restrict fuel sales as crude hits $107 and retail prices stay frozen: Report
Reliance Industries moved higher.
29 Sept 2026 · Business Today Mkts
Reliance Industries and Nayara Energy have begun restricting diesel and petrol sales at some outlets as crude prices surge while domestic pump prices remain unchanged. The curbs are aimed at managing rising demand, preventing bulk hoarding and limiting losses for private fuel retailers.
The analysis
Against that, the stock is -1.1% on the day at ₹1,205.20, and has returned -7.5% over three months. It sits 24% below its 52-week high. The oil & energy sector has moved +1.0% over the same period, so Reliance Industries is running 8.5 points behind its peers.
For Reliance Industries, the question is how much of this is already reflected in the price and how much re-rates the oil & energy peer set alongside it.
