Securities and Exchange Board of India has cleared Gautam Adani and family of MPS violations accusations. While it imposed a penalty of ₹20 lakh each on two individuals for misinformation. The cases involve Adani Enterprises, Adani Power, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone, and Adani Energy Solutions.
The analysis
Adani Enterprises reported ₹20 lakh. Those are the figures as filed — what moves the price is how they sit against what the market already expected, not their absolute size.
Against that, the stock is -3.6% on the day at ₹2,747.60, and has returned -10.8% over three months. It sits 14% below its 52-week high. The infrastructure sector has moved -14.3% over the same period, so Adani Enterprises is running 3.5 points ahead of its peers.
For Adani Enterprises, the question is how much of this is already reflected in the price and how much re-rates the infrastructure peer set alongside it.
