Equity mutual funds inflow surges 31% to ₹38,306 crore in September
Groww moved higher in an institutional flows development.
· Business Standard Mkts
Equity mutual fund schemes attracted a net inflow of Rs 38,306 crore in September, rising 31 per cent from the preceding month, driven by strong investor interest in mid-cap and small-cap funds despite underperformance in the equity market. The inflow was higher than Rs 29,329 crore recorded in August, according to data released by the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) on Monday.
The analysis
Groww reported ₹38,306 crore, Rs 29,329 crore and Rs 9,039 crore, with movement of 31% attached to those lines. Those are the figures as filed — what moves the price is how they sit against what the market already expected, not their absolute size.
Against that, the stock is -0.1% on the day at ₹192.15, and has returned -5.9% over three months. It sits 13% below its 52-week high. The capital markets sector has moved -6.3% over the same period, so Groww is running 0.4 points ahead of its peers.
For Groww, the question is how much of this is already reflected in the price and how much re-rates the capital markets peer set alongside it.
