Ircon to monetise 4 highway assets; PSU plans to unlock 3,000cr value as part of GoI's infra monetisation
Ircon International made an announcement in an infrastructure development.
· ET Stocks, Economic Times Markets
Ircon International has placed four highway assets for sale in a government-led monetisation programme. These assets include toll-road and hybrid annuity model projects located in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Gujarat. The enterprise value of the assets is estimated to be around ₹3,000 crore, as advised by Axis Capital.
The analysis
Ircon International reported ₹3,000 crore. Those are the figures as filed — what moves the price is how they sit against what the market already expected, not their absolute size.
Against that, the stock is -0.4% on the day at ₹106.35, and has returned -18.5% over three months. It sits 41% below its 52-week high, which means a good deal of bad news was already in the price. The infrastructure sector has moved -13.1% over the same period, so Ircon International is running 5.4 points behind its peers.
For Ircon International, the question is how much of this is already reflected in the price and how much re-rates the infrastructure peer set alongside it.

- Infra spending is both an economic-cycle signal and a direct order pipeline for capital-goods names.
