The analysis
JK Cement reported ₹169 cr, Rs 169.3 crore and Rs 159.25 crore for Q2FY27, with movement of 21%, 13% and 6.3% attached to those lines. Those are the figures as filed — what moves the price is how they sit against what the market already expected, not their absolute size.
Against that, the stock is -2.2% on the day at ₹4,858.50, and has returned -15.7% over three months. It sits 24% below its 52-week high. The cement & construction sector has moved -15.2% over the same period, so JK Cement is running 0.5 points behind its peers.
For JK Cement, the question is how much of this is already reflected in the price and how much re-rates the cement & construction peer set alongside it.
Why it matters
- Earnings versus expectations is what actually re-rates a stock; the surprise matters more than the absolute number.
