ACC Ltd, an Adani Group cement firm, on Tuesday reported 91.7 per cent fall in consolidated net profit to Rs 93 crore for September quarter FY27, on account of decline in sales volume due to a Master Supply Agreement with the parent entity. The company had posted a profit of Rs 1,119 crore in the July-September period, according to a regulatory filing from ACC, a subsidiary of Ambuja Cements.

The analysis
Income Tax reported ₹93 crore, ₹5,656 crore and Rs 1,119 crore for FY27, with movement of 91%, 5.2% and 6.9% attached to those lines. Those are the figures as filed — what moves the price is how they sit against what the market already expected, not their absolute size.
Against that, the stock is -1.6% on the day at ₹1,147.50, and has returned -15.5% over three months. It sits 40% below its 52-week high, which means a good deal of bad news was already in the price. The cement & construction sector has moved -14.9% over the same period, so ACC is running 0.6 points behind its peers.
For ACC, the question is how much of this is already reflected in the price and how much re-rates the cement & construction peer set alongside it.
Why it matters
- Earnings versus expectations is what actually re-rates a stock; the surprise matters more than the absolute number.
- Tax changes flow through to post-tax earnings and can shift the relative appeal of entire asset classes.
- Credit growth and asset quality are the pulse of the financial sector, which is the largest weight in Indian indices.
