Optimo Capital appoints former RBI CGM as an independent director
RBI is in focus in a governance development.
· BS Companies
Bengaluru-based non-banking finance company Optimo Capital on Thursday said it has roped in former RBI Chief General Manager Shrimohan Yadav as an independent director on its board. In this role, he will guide the company's board on governance, risk and regulatory matters and will serve on certain important board Committees, the company said.
The analysis
RBI reported Rs 1,200 crore and Rs 441 crore. Those are the figures as filed — what moves the price is how they sit against what the market already expected, not their absolute size.
This is an Asset quality / margins event. For lenders the headline profit is the least informative line. Slippages, credit cost and margin direction determine whether the quarter is repeatable.
Why it matters
- Governance events hit the valuation multiple, not just the earnings — and the de-rating is usually faster than the recovery.
Market context
- Sector exposure: Banks.
