Ellenbarrie Industrial Gases secures contract worth Rs 480 cr from BHEL
GST Council is in focus.
· Business Standard Mkts
Ellenbarrie Industrial Gases has been awarded a contract worth Rs 480.73 crore (excluding GST) by Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL), for the supply and erection of a Cryogenic Air Separation Unit (ASU) for the proposed Coal to Ammonium Nitrate (2000 TPD) Project at Bandhabal, Jharsuguda district, Odisha (India)."
The analysis
GST Council reported Rs 480 cr and Rs 480.73 crore. Those are the figures as filed — what moves the price is how they sit against what the market already expected, not their absolute size.
This is an Order book / contract win event. Order inflow is the only forward-looking number most capital-goods and infrastructure companies disclose. What matters is execution pace and margin on the book, not the headline value.
Why it matters
- A large order lengthens revenue visibility, which is what the market pays a premium for in capital-goods and infra names.
- Tax changes flow through to post-tax earnings and can shift the relative appeal of entire asset classes.
- With GST Council involved, this carries a regulatory dimension that can outlast the immediate market reaction.
