IMF applauds India GDP data revamp, says strong fundamentals cushioned energy shock

Addressing questions regarding revisions to India's GDP numbers, Krishna Srinivasan, Director of the IMF's Asia and Pacific Department said that the authorities issued a clarifying note and that the methodological changes are "entirely consistent" with IMF advice and statistics department guidelines.
