Centre Scraps Export Duty On Petrol; Diesel And ATF Levies Increased

Indian markets moved higher.

The Centre has scrapped the Rs 2.50 per litre additional excise duty on petrol exports while raising the diesel export levy by Rs 3. ATF exports will also attract a higher duty, with the revised rates changing the tax structure.

This is a Tax / tariff / duty event. Duty and incentive changes reset landed cost and competitive position immediately, and unlike demand shifts they arrive on a known date.
