Jio Platforms may draw more than $20 billion in bids for IPO
Reliance Industries is in focus in an ipo & listings development.
· Economic Times Markets
Jio Platforms Ltd. is generating tremendous interest for its forthcoming initial public offering, with over $20 billion already attracted. The company targets a valuation around 10.3 trillion rupees, or $108 billion. Notable global investors such as Fidelity and Allianz are on board for this primary issue IPO. Expect the launch next week, as final anchor investor discussions are underway.
The analysis
Against that, the stock is -0.3% on the day at ₹1,166.70, and has returned -10.6% over three months. It sits 27% below its 52-week high, which means a good deal of bad news was already in the price. The oil & energy sector has moved -4.7% over the same period, so Reliance Industries is running 5.9 points behind its peers.
For Reliance Industries, the question is how much of this is already reflected in the price and how much re-rates the oil & energy peer set alongside it.
Why it matters
- Listing activity is a read on risk appetite — a hot primary market usually means a confident secondary one.
