Swiggy slips 26% in 1 month, hits record low; stock down 46% from IPO price

Swiggy moved lower in an institutional flows development.

· Business Standard Mkts

Foreign portfolio investors reduced their holdings in Swiggy to 8.55% in the September 2026 quarter, down from 13.96% at the end of the June 2026 quarter, the shareholding pattern shows.

Swiggy reported movement of 26%, 46% and 8.55%. Those are the figures as filed — what moves the price is how they sit against what the market already expected, not their absolute size.

Against that, the stock is -4.5% on the day at ₹213.50, and has returned -17.2% over three months. It sits 51% below its 52-week high, which means a good deal of bad news was already in the price. The hotels & restaurants sector has moved -1.4% over the same period, so Swiggy is running 15.8 points behind its peers.

For Swiggy, the question is how much of this is already reflected in the price and how much re-rates the hotels & restaurants peer set alongside it.

  • Sustained FII or DII direction moves the whole market, not just the names being bought — it sets the tape's tone.
  • Listing activity is a read on risk appetite — a hot primary market usually means a confident secondary one.
  • The company directly in focus is SWIGGY.
  • Sector exposure: Hotels & Restaurants.
