Five IPOs to raise nearly ₹2,600 crore as primary market stays active
Reliance Industries moved higher in an ipo & listings development with November 5 in focus.
· Business Standard Mkts
Five companies, including EAAA India Alternatives, SFC Environmental Technologies, and M K Sons Fine Jewels, are set to launch their initial public offerings (IPOs) next week, seeking to raise close to Rs 2,600 crore from the primary market. BLS Polymers and Bombay Coated and Special Steels would also float their maiden public offerings during the week.
Key facts
- Dates in focus
- November 5 and November 6
The analysis
Reliance Industries reported ₹2,600 crore. Those are the figures as filed — what moves the price is how they sit against what the market already expected, not their absolute size.
Against that, the stock is +0.5% on the day at ₹1,190.00, and has returned -8.1% over three months. It sits 25% below its 52-week high, which means a good deal of bad news was already in the price. The oil & energy sector has moved -5.7% over the same period, so Reliance Industries is running 2.4 points behind its peers.
For Reliance Industries, the question is how much of this is already reflected in the price and how much re-rates the oil & energy peer set alongside it.
Why it matters
- Listing activity is a read on risk appetite — a hot primary market usually means a confident secondary one.
Market context
- The company directly in focus is RELIANCE.
- Sector exposure: Oil & Energy.
