· Business Standard Mkts, NDTV Profit
IL JIN Electronics (India) Ltd, an arm of Amber Enterprises India Ltd, has filed preliminary papers with the market regulator Sebi to raise Rs 2,500 crore through an initial public offering (IPO). The proposed IPO is entirely a fresh issue of equity shares, with no offer for sale (OFS) component, according to the draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) dated November 6.

- November 6
The analysis
SEBI reported ₹2,500 crore. Those are the figures as filed — what moves the price is how they sit against what the market already expected, not their absolute size.
Against that, the stock is -2.8% on the day at ₹6,403.00, and has returned -13.8% over three months. It sits 28% below its 52-week high, which means a good deal of bad news was already in the price. The consumer durables sector has moved -8.9% over the same period, so Amber Enterprises India is running 4.9 points behind its peers.
For Amber Enterprises India, the question is how much of this is already reflected in the price and how much re-rates the consumer durables peer set alongside it.
Why it matters
- Listing activity is a read on risk appetite — a hot primary market usually means a confident secondary one.
- With SEBI involved, this carries a regulatory dimension that can outlast the immediate market reaction.
