HDFC Bank secured new business.

· Business Standard Mkts

Vinay Rajani of HDFC Securities said that Nifty's medium-term momentum has improved, with the next resistance level placed at 24,012. Support has shifted higher to 23,500.

Against that, the stock is +3.6% on the day at ₹725.50, and has returned -3.6% over three months. It sits 28% below its 52-week high, which means a good deal of bad news was already in the price. The banks sector has moved -7.4% over the same period, so HDFC Bank is running 3.8 points ahead of its peers.

For HDFC Bank, the question is how much of this is already reflected in the price and how much re-rates the banks peer set alongside it.

  • In focus: HDFC Bank (HDFCBANK), in Banks.
  • Over three months: HDFC Bank -3.6% against Banks -7.4% (3.8 points ahead).
  • At least 25% below the 52-week high: HDFC Bank (28%).
