CG Power reported ₹409 crore, Rs 284.44 crore and Rs 3,883.25 crore for FY27, with movement of 44% attached to those lines. Those are the figures as filed — what moves the price is how they sit against what the market already expected, not their absolute size.

Against that, the stock is -0.8% on the day at ₹811.00, and has returned -10.5% over three months. It sits 17% below its 52-week high. The capital goods & engineering sector has moved -7.1% over the same period, so CG Power is running 3.4 points behind its peers.

This is a Capacity / capex event. Capacity added into a soft cycle compresses returns for the whole sector; added into a tight one it is the cheapest growth available. The cycle position matters more than the announcement. On the day the stock is -0.8%, so a modest reaction.

  • Earnings versus expectations is what actually re-rates a stock; the surprise matters more than the absolute number.
  • Capex decisions are a bet on future demand; the market rewards or punishes them on whether the returns look credible.
  • The company directly in focus is CGPOWER.
  • Sector exposure: Capital Goods & Engineering, Power.
  • The immediate tone of coverage reads positive.
